Orly Kahane-Rapport received her Honours B.A from York University in Psychology and Mass Communications, and received her LL.B from the University of Western Ontario. Orly was called to the Ontario bar in 1994. Since that time, Orly has practiced law in Toronto, with a focus on civil litigation. Orly uses her skills to represent a broad range of corporate and commercial clientele, as well as individual clients.
Working closely with Alan Dryer and Sherman Brown since 1998, Orly has extensive experience appearing at all levels of the Ontario courts and a range of Ontario tribunals. She successfully acts for clients on various court and tribunal appearances, mediations, and arbitrations, providing her clients with practical, client focused, attentive experience.
Orly’s legal practice includes litigation and client representation with respect to employment law issues, human rights issues, estate litigation, and will and power of attorney drafting. Orly has extensive experience representing new home builders and buyers with respect to Tarion warranty claims, as well as landlords and tenants at the Landlord and Tenant Board. Orly also practices in the areas of real estate litigation, boundary dispute litigation and professional negligence actions.
Orly’s professional experience continues to expand, with her appointment as a Deputy Judge in the Toronto Small Claims Court in 2015, and her certification as a mediator in 2021.
Orly is fluent in English and Hebrew.
